Carol Gieg has a Passion for Writing!

Along with her work being included in several anthologies, she published her first book in 2017 (TBI to Be Injured – Surviving and Thriving after Brain Injury). This Is the story of how she survived a traumatic brain injury and neurosurgery, returned to work less than three months later and continued for 10 more years before retiring.

The purpose of the book is to encourage and support others who have suffered a brain injury of any sort (traumatic brain injury, stroke, etc.). They can recover some of what has been lost through “re-networking“ (creating new neural pathways to compensate for some of what has been lost in the injury). Each must learn not to succumb to others’ predictions about how their life will be limited, to focus on possibilities rather than prognosis.

Now she has released a charming, illustrated children’s story, told in rhyme, with an underlying theme of inclusivity.
